Democrats name their DOGE Subcommittee members

House Democrats have named their members to sit on the DOGE Subcommittee, a sign that they’re willing to work across the aisle with the new administration.

Rep. Melanie Stansbury (D-N.M.) announced the news that she would be leading Democrats on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee’s new subcommittee intended to work in conjunction with the Department of Government Efficiency, led by Elon Musk.

“It’s official: I will serve as Ranking Member of the new DOGE Subcommittee in @OversightDems,” she wrote.

Stansbury, a former employee of the White House Office of Management and Budget, said she knows what government efficiency looks like.

“And, I will use every tool available to work across the aisle and combat policies that are harmful to Americans,” Stansbury said.

According to Politico, the other Democrats joining Stansbury include Washington, D.C. delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton, Reps. Stephen Lynch (Mass.) and Robert Garcia (Calif.), and Texas lawmakers Greg Casar and Jasmine Crockett.

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.), the ranking member on the Oversight Committee, will be permitted to sit on the subcommittee as well, the outlet reported.

Shortly after the election, it was announced that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) will chair the subcommittee.
